“...the greatest change we need to make is from consumption to production, even if on a small scale, in our own gardens. If only 10% of us do this, there is enough for everyone.” - Bill Mollison-
What is good for the earth is good for the person.
I started a permaculture garden on my quarter acre urban garden in the Spring of 2016. This is a sustainable, sufficient, and truly organic type of gardening that utilize the patterns and features observed in a natural ecosystem.
Within a Permaculture system, “wastes” becomes resources, wasted energy is minimized, and environments are restored. It’s about putting more back in the soil than you take out of it, and working with nature rather than against it, to create an abundant food forest!
Aside from the food, gardening has been linked to lower asthma rates, better school performance, less obesity, and better self-rated health. Gardening has been known to reduce stress and blood pressure, and increase immunity.
There are lots to know about biodynamic, polyculture, permaculture gardening practices, and how being outside can improve your health.
